Artist Draws Police Sketches Of Literary Characters Based On Their Book Descriptions

One of the fun things about reading your favorite novels is the fact that your imagination is allowed to wild with the descriptions provided in the books.

Brian J Davis is a Brooklyn-based digital artist who produced sketches of some of the most well-known literary characters using law enforcement software.

Not all of us come to the same conclusions about how the characters may look and how they’re perceived in the book so it’s interesting to see these images conjured up from your favorite stories as if they were police sketches.

Some come pretty close to the descriptions in the books and some are way off. Nonetheless, it’s cool to compare the sketches to the actors who played them.

Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games

Lisbeth Salander, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Jack Torrance, The Shining

Annie Wilkes, Misery

Daisy Buchanan, The Great Gatsby

Lux Lisbon, The Virgin Suicides

Count Dracula, Dracula

Marla Singer, Fight Club

Norman Bates, Psycho

Tom Ripley, The Talented Mr. Ripley

Javert, Les Misrables

Christian Grey, Fifty Shades of Grey

The Monster, Frankenstein
